Yes, Ohio State is the real deal

It is a good week to be an Ohio State Buckeyes fan. First, Urban Meyer, who won two National Championships at Florida, accepted the head football coaching job. Then, Ohio State basketball dominated Duke in the Big Ten/ACC challenge. Ohio State defeated Duke 85-63 late Tuesday night, proving themselves as serious contenders. Jared Sullinger had 21 points and 8 rebounds, while Aaron Craft added 17 points and 8 assists. When pre-season favorite North Carolina went down to UNLV, the question lingered around college basketball as to who was the best team. Some argued that Duke was the best team, others argued for Kentucky. Few argued in favor of the Buckeyes. But now, it is hard to have any doubt in Ohio State after their win over Duke. Ohio State looked like an unquestionable number 1 seed for the big dance in March. Sullinger looked NBA ready, always having positioning under the hoop and staying out of foul trouble. Aaron Craft is proving himself as a leader, and as a nice accomplice for Sullinger. Craft hit 3 out of his 4 attempts from beyond the arc. Deshaun Thomas added 18 points and 5 rebounds. William Buford had 20 points, and is averaging 18 points and just over 4 rebounds this year. Clearly, Ohio State has the depth to compete with any team in the nation. Most of these guys played with each other last season and it showed. The team was always on the same page and were able to get a lot of easy lay ups. If the Buckeyes remain healthy, do not be surprised if you see them in the National Championship game April 2nd in New Orleans.
